Just got home from Detroit and thought I’d throw a shot up here tonight. In the old days before lightbulbs became bright enough or common enough to use in office buildings (sometime around the 1930’s and 1940’s), buildings used lightwells to increase the value of interior office spaces. In this Detroit midrise the lightwell extends from the 8th floor down to the 3rd. The building has been vacant for quite soem time and the effects of water infiltration are everywhere.
