Washington, D.C., (July 9, 2004) Ð The American flag waves over the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial, located in Washington, D.C. Mr. Felix DeWeldon sculpted the memorial after the famous flag-raising scene at the Battle of Iwo Jima during World War II.
